Founder

Jonathan Andrew holds degrees from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. Jonathan is a Founding Director of University Select, LLC, a data and research-based test prep company. 

Together with Dr. Ashleigh Barnes, Jonathan developed the fundamental parameters of a data-driven teaching method that upends much of the received wisdom in the standardized test prep industry. 

Jonathan graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Biological Sciences after which he worked at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. Jonathan’s interest in the social drivers of disease led him to law school. From 2008 – 2014, Jonathan was a law professor in Australia, India, and U.S. He taught Contract and Constitutional Law, and his areas of research included Constitutional Theory and International Business Transactions, with a focus on the comparative development models of India, China and Brazil. 

Jonathan enjoys competing in triathlons and reading literary fiction.

Dr. Ashleigh Barnes holds a B.A. from Stetson, a J.D. from UF, an LL.M. from Leiden University and a Ph.D. in International Law from the Australian National University. Dr. Barnes is a Founding Director and Chief Legal Officer at University Select, LLC, a data and research-based test prep company.

Ashleigh has a passion for innovative methods in teaching and a commitment to bolstering self-confidence in the learning process. Through innumerable white board sessions, large data sets, and hundreds of hours of tutoring, she and Jonathan have attempted to convert that passion into a program that is sophisticated, yet simple – empowering, regardless of a student’s score baseline. 

Since 2008, Dr. Barnes has been a law professor, teaching Criminal Law and International Law at the Australian National University, Jindal Global Law School (a globally oriented law school in Delhi, India), and at Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was a Visiting Professor. Ashleigh currently teaches courses at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, including What Every Lawyer Should Know About Business and International Rights of the Child. Ashleigh competes in triathlons and makes a mean dark chocolate flourless cake!
